Personality Development

NCC activities provide numerous opportunities for cadets to develop their personalities. Association with the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force has a positive & powerful impact on the personality of NCC Youth. The training sessions, lectures, and regimental life directly improve the personality of NCC Cadets. Exposure to a disciplined life, diverse cultures, and outdoor experiences helps in shaping all-rounded personality. Cadets become more confident, team-oriented, and goal-driven individuals. So, NCC helps the Personality Development of its Cadets.

Disciplined Life

Defence or regimental life means discipline. NCC directly instructs a disciplined life in youth. Regular drills, parades, and training camps help cadets develop discipline, time management, and a sense of responsibility. A disciplined life creates a responsible citizen for the country.

Confidence & Communication Skills

NCC Cadets get many opportunities to improve confidence & communication skills. NCC provides a platform to interact with youths across the nation. Camps like, CATC, EBSB (Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat), RDC (Republic Day Camp) and TSC (Thal Sainik Camp) enhance confidence and communication in cadets. Career in Armed Forces & Govt Jobs

NCC cadets are given preference in recruitment to the Indian Armed Forces. The Cadets also have opportunities in Certain state and central government jobs. ‘C’ Certificate holders have so many advantages in the Indian Armed Forces as well as other government jobs. The advantages are:

Direct Recruitment for SSB

NCC “C” certificate holder Candidates have a golden opportunity to go to the SSB directly. These candidates are exempt from giving the common entrance exam. Therefore, they are called directly for SSB.

CDSE (Men)

If a candidate (having NCC ‘C’ certificate) clears the CDSE and then the SSB exam, he will have the following reservations in various academies.

  • INA: 05-08 vacancies reserved
  • IMA: 3-15 vacancies reserved
Special Entry (Men and Women)
  • OTA Chennai- Special Entry (non tech) there are 50 vacancies for “C” certificate holders.
  • AFA Hyderabad – In all courses, there are 10% vacancies reserved for “C” certificate Air Wing holders.
Recruitment as Jawan

Bonus Marks to join the defence forces as a Soldier General Duty /clerk/store keeper Technical /Technical/tradesman category:

  • ‘A’ Certificate: 05 marks
  • ‘B’ Certificate: 10 marks
  • ’C’ Certificate: ‘C’ certificate holders and who have participated in the Republic Day parade will be exempted from CEE (Common Entrance Exam) for recruitment in Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Soldier Technical, and Soldier Nursing Assistant categories and will be awarded 100% marks instead of CEE.
Perso Other Benefits of “C” Certificate
  • For Other Ranks, Sailors, Airmen: 5 to 10 percent bonus marks awarded for recruitment.
  • Para Military Forces: 2 to 10 bonus marks awarded for recruitment
  • Department of Telecommunication: Bonus marks awarded for recruitment
  • CRPF: NCC cadets holding a 3rd division degree are eligible for recruitment to gazetted posts.
  • State Govts: Preference for State Services in certain States.
  • Industry: Some industries give preference to NCC C certificate holders for various jobs related to the field of security.

Therefore, Social service activities like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Blood Donation Camps, Tree Plantation, and Disaster Relief teach cadets the value of community service.
