VISUAL ARTS SYLLABUS

Unit 1: Objects and Still Life

Introduction of Object Drawing or Still Life, connection, observation  & drawing of still life. Understanding how to create forms, adding depth, making them 3D (3 Dimensional), & some interesting activities like creating flipbooks.

Suggestions for the Teacher

  • It’s better to take the whole class out of the classroom. An open area, such as a garden, school building, or art room, is a great idea for performing this activity.
  • Just brief the students about the observation, scanning & notice the objects around us
  • Allow some time (approximately 10 to 15 minutes) to watch and observe nature and objects with a serious focus.
  • After observation, ask them to select two or three objects and draw them.

Pre-Activity Suggestions

  • Before this activity, it’s better to teach students about various maths shape like sphere, cube, cuboid, Cylinder, & Cone.
  • Also taught them to connect these shapes with the objects around us.
  • Observe & draw objects and create your own style.

Unit 2: Changing the Typical Picture

Step out the doors to discover the beauty of nature, observe shapes, colours, forms, patterns and textures in natural objects. Making of Natural Colours. Walk in nature observing trees, plants, leaves, sky, clouds, earth, soil, pebbles, stones and even the animals, birds and insects, etc. Also, observe the texture. Make a note on the observation of these objects in nature.

Unit 3: Portraying People

Unit 4: Paper Crafts

Unit 5: Seals to Prints
